The punch has a punch lever (2) displacing a punching cylinder (4) against a spring force. The punch lever and a pressing upper part of a paper clip stapler are mounted on a common device base in a supporting and swiveling unit for forming a dual functioning device. A punch unit and a stapler unit are assigned to two guiding surfaces for inserting paper sheets to be handled. The lever is designed as a pressing upper part of the stapler.
