A chute assembly (10) in a bucket or scoop (18) designed to be mounted on a front end loader (12) or the like having a boom or lift arms (14) for raising, lowering and controlling fore-aft pitch of the bucket (18). The bucket or scoop (18) has an interior chamber and the chute assembly (10) has a pair of converging sidewalls (30) mounted on a plate (32) forming a funnel, preferably with an adjustable throat for spreading flowable materials. The sidewalls (30) of the chute are adapted to make a sealing fit with the sidewalls (28) of the bucket (18), as does the plate (32) along its bottom wall, joining the funnel and the interior chamber and forming a hopper. The chute assembly (10) has means (52) for attachably and detachably securing the plate (32) to the bottom wall (24) of the bucket (18). In one embodiment, a power ram drive mechanism (68) swings the chute assembly in and out of the bucket (18) on lift arms (58) attached to the bucket (18).
