A method for manufacturing an embossed leather product in which method by using high frequency sealing apparatus a desired leather piece to be formed at least from part of its area is placed beween the base of the apparatus and a press element having engravings of the desired form, in which high frequency sealing the leather is warmed up before high frequency sealing, high frequency sealed by pressing a press element and the base together. Said leather piece has outer surface (1) which usually is left visible and inner surface (2) which in the end product stays non-visible. The leather is pressed by the parts surrounding the formable pattern and the places of the grooves of the press element through the against leather non-grippable mould to be placed between the base and the leather. Said mould contains plenty of layers of different material formable by heating and high frequency to the shape of the press element.
