A wobble plate type compressor with a variable capacity mechanism has an actuator (26) which operates so as to change the stroke volume of the working pistons (18) by changing the angle of an inclined surface of the wobble plate. The actuator (26) is disposed in the centre portion of the cylinder block (31), and therefore the size of the compressor can be made small with a simple construction.
