A method of manufacturing an edge element, which is a laminate and comprises a porous core layer (9) and a hard surface layer (8). A non-stretchable layer (6) is placed on a foldable mold (1, 2, 3) on a support. A hardenable layer (8) is sprayed on the non-stretchable layer (6). The porous core layer (9) is placed on the hardenable layer (8) and the mold with the non-stretchable and the hardenable layer are folded around the core layer. The non-stretchable layer contributes to making the hardenable layer come very close to the surface and the edges of the core layer. Crack formation, curved rather than sharp edges and wrinkle formation are prevented in the finished laminate.
